Dr. Jim Schultz is a Family Physician who serves as the Chief Medical Officer for Neighborhood Healthcare in San Diego and Riverside Counties in Southern California. since 2001. He sees patients in the office at Neighborhood Healthcare and as a hospitalist at Palomar Medical Center. His clinical work includes full-spectrum primary care, outpatient procedures, colposcopy and outpatient gynecologic procedures, retinal imaging oversight, and gang member tattoo removals.

He is Volunteer Clinical Professor for the UCSD Department of Family Medicine and Public Health and Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at Western University of Health Sciences. Dr. Schultz completed his Family Medicine Residency and was Chief Resident at Tallahassee Memorial Regional Medical Center. He received his MD from the University of California, Los Angeles, and an MBA from California State University, San Marcos. He has been awarded the Diploma in Mountain Medicine and is a Fellow of the Academy of Wilderness Medicine.

Jim has been to Everest base camp, summiting Kala Patthar in the process, has worked in the clinic as a volunteer in Ghandruk on the Annapurna Circuit, and has led multiple high altitude medical mission treks in the Zanskar/ Kargiakh area of the Indian Himalayas. He recently climbed Kilimanjaro with WildMed Adventures and did not die. He loves to snow ski, take long solo backpacks (The Sierras, Zion, and Kalalau in Kauai are his favorites), trail run (Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rims being the highlights), and gravel bike (long solo tours in Thailand, yes please!).
