Jess Jewett, MD

Jess Jewett is an Emergency Medicine physician, based out of Logan, Utah. Until just recently he has served in leadership roles including managing partner and board member at CarePoint Utah, as well as CMO for Cache Valley Hospital. His special interests with medicine include wilderness, leadership, wellness and wound care. Jess graduated from Utah State University with a degree in public health, he then went on to American University of the Caribbean for his Medical degree. From there he completed a surgical internship in Denver at St Joseph’s hospital and an Emergency Medicine residency in Jackson, MS with the University of Mississippi. He then came back to Utah to work as an associate professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Utah for two years. He then moved on to community-based emergency medicine serving northern Utah. He was born and raised in Utah where he developed a love for skiing, snowboarding, boating, hiking, hunting, scuba diving and golfing - really anything outdoors. He comes from a long line of wanderlust enthusiasts and adventurers, he believes that family, friends, food and culture/travel is the pinnacle of what this life has to offer, that “travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness”– Mark Twain. His first trip with Wild Med was to Patagonia, fly fishing and from there he was hooked. He has lectured for and attended a myriad of Wild Med Trips.
