Dr. Jessica Vittorelli

Dr. Jess Vitto’s journey in wilderness medicine is rooted in growing up and exploring the rugged landscapes of Maine. After earning a medical degree from the University of New England and completing residency in Southern California, Jess pursued a GME wilderness medicine fellowship in Western Massachusetts, where she is acquiring specialized skills and knowledge to address the unique challenges of providing medical care in remote and austere environments. Her outdoor recreation activities include snowboarding, splitboarding, rock and ice climbing, trail running, and mountaineering. Some of her feats include climbing Mount San Jacinto (sea level to 14k!) in one day, trail running the 40-mile Resurrection Pass in Alaska in one day, and tagging the highest peak in Africa, Mt Kilimanjaro, while teaching wilderness medicine with Wild Med! Jess is also an active search and rescue team member, and is pursuing both her Diploma in Mountain Medicine and Fellowship in the Academy of Wilderness Medicine.
