Nick Daniel, DO, FAWM
Dr. Daniel is an emergency medicine physician and completed a fellowship in wilderness medicine at Baystate Medical Center, in Springfield MA. Nick was born from the trees and tundra in one of the coldest cities in the United States and spent several childhood years in northern Minnesota before moving to the plains. Having lifelong aspirations of becoming a physician, his interest in wilderness medicine grew from a natural blend of emergency medicine and life experiences, including a self-sustained cycling adventure across the United States and from his travel to over 20 countries.
During his fellowship, Nick supervised medical students in a hospital in Haiti, spent a month in the Indian Himalayas teaching medical students and residents while providing care to local peoples, participated in AWLS courses in Mexico and Guatemala while summiting Pico de Orizaba and Vulcan Tajumulco, and has become a certified AWLS instructor.
Nick is currently the Assistant Director of the Baystate Wilderness Medicine Fellowship and recently summited Kilimanjaro while teaching Mountain Medicine for Wild Med Adventures.
Nick has a passion for wilderness education and outdoor activities, and is currently working in several areas of wilderness research.
