Katie calder, PA-C
Katie is an emergency medicine physician assistant at Albany Medical Center and is a also a physician assistant in the US Army National Guard. She has a passion for emergency, trauma, and remote medicine. Her passion for medicine began when she earned her EMT in Massachusetts which eventually drove her to complete her physician assistant degree. Katie has a great love for the outdoors and travel. She has explored Greece, Curacao, Mexico, Peru, France, Scotland, Guatemala, and Tanzania to name a few. Katie especially loves being active and hiking and she can regularly be found outside during her time off. She has hiked the tallest peak in Central America, Volcan Tajumulco, and the tallest peak in Africa - Kilimanjaro while teaching wilderness medicine.
Katie is excited about teaching with Wild Med Adventures and she currently serves as faculty at Albany Medical College and is also certified as an Advanced Wilderness Life Support (AWLS) instructor. She enjoys sharing information and experiences as well as discussing anything wilderness medicine.
